Supporting Our Students

Dear TFSD Students, Staff Members, Parents, and Patrons,

Over the past month, we have all been adjusting to schools being closed. While continuing the education of our students during the soft closure has been our top priority as a district, we know there are many other changes, challenges, and adjustments families must address. On top of everything, we have experienced losses that would be heartbreaking for any community even in the best of times.

Anytime we lose a loved one, a student, a family member, a friend, or a classmate it is important to grieve and to take a moment to check on those who are also affected by that loss. Even though school buildings are closed, our counselors and staff members are still here, ready to answer the phone to provide support and guidance. I encourage anyone who needs someone to talk to, please reach out to our counselors. If you need assistance, we are here for you. Regardless of what you may be going through, our counselors are available to talk or video conference with your child.

I can only imagine the challenges some of you and your family might be facing. Please, do what you need and take care of yourself. Find time to celebrate happy moments and share those with others. We are in this together and every one of us has the capacity to listen to one another in these challenging times. Again, if you need someone to talk to, please do not hesitate to call or email a teacher, counselor, or other staff member. We are all here to support one another, even with the school building doors aren’t open.

Sincerely,

Dr. Brady Dickinson

Superintendent of Schools
