Re:  School District Announces New TFHS Head Football Coach

The Twin Falls School District #411 is pleased to announce Ben Kohring will be the Head Football Coach at Twin Falls High School for the 2020-21 school year. This decision was approved by the school board on May 11.

Kohring, a member of the TFHS class of 1997, attended Western State University in Gunnison, Colorado where he studied kinesiology and business administration and coaching. Kohring played football at WSU and ran track. He has experience in many different positions including quarterback, defensive back, punter, strong safety, corner, and free safety. He was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Conference Punter during his time at WSU

Kohring became an assistant coach at WSU in 2002 where he worked with wide receivers and defensive backs in 2003. Kohring joined the Baker University football program in 2004 as an assistant coach in Baldwin, Kansas,  where he worked with defensive backs, punters, and wide receivers. While at Baker, Kohring also served as a travel coordinator, academic coordinator, and the JV offensive (2004) and defensive (2005) coordinator. In 2006, Kohring again joined a football program, this time in Louisiana at Nicholls State University working with wide-receivers and special teams.

Kohring received a master’s degree in education in 2005 from Baker University. He came back to TFHS in 2007 where he currently teaches lifetime sports, body development, and freshman foundations. Throughout his 13 years with TFHS he has served as an assistant football coach helping develop the program.
