Twin Falls High School is proud to announce the completion and opening of its new, expanded Welding and Agriculture facility, marking a major milestone in the district’s ongoing commitment to hands-on, career-ready education.

The project was made possible in part by a $1,060,880 grant awarded through the Idaho Career Ready Students (ICRS) council, a statewide initiative focused on elevating Career Technical Education (CTE) and aligning high school instruction with local workforce demands. Supplemental district funding was also utilized alongside the grant to ensure the facility was fully built out to meet student needs.

In addition to expanding the high-demand welding and ag programs, the upgraded facility features a dedicated learning space for a broader range of agricultural pathways. Students will now benefit from dedicated rooms designed to include classes like ornamental horticulture and small engine mechanics in the future.

In a cross-program collaboration, portions of the facility were built with direct help from students in the Twin Falls School District’s Residential Construction program. Working side by side with industry professionals during construction, these students gained invaluable real-world trade experience. Today, students across multiple CTE disciplines get to enjoy the fruits of their labor as they learn and train inside a space they helped create.

The expansion reflects TFSD's broader vision of building strong, sustainable CTE programs that prepare students to transition seamlessly into the workforce or pursue higher education.
