Chemistry
Chemistry is strongly recommended for those students who are planning to go to college. This course studies the properties of matter. Emphasis is on the metric system, chemical formulas, balancing equations, atomic structure, the mole, kinetics and gas laws. Laboratory experiments are conducted. Math skills are very important to be successful in chemistry.
Physical Science
Physical Science is designed to give the non-science student an introduction to the basic principles of chemistry, Physics and Earth Science. Topics may include scientific method, structure of atoms and molecules, composition of matter, motion, forces, energy, heat, waves, electricity, magnetism and light.
